Where it works
Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord accept these characters in bios, display names, posts and messages. They are Unicode symbols, not a font, so a device without a matching font shows empty boxes. Screen readers may read each letter by its symbol name or skip it, so keep names, links and key info in plain text.

How do I make text bold where there is no bold button?

What is the difference between Bold and Bold Sans?
Bold has serifs, like Times. Bold Sans has none, like Helvetica, so it usually matches the text around it in apps better.
Does bold text include numbers?
Yes. Both bold styles have bold digits, ๐ to ๐ and ๐ฌ to ๐ต.
Can I use bold text on LinkedIn?
Yes, LinkedIn posts and headlines accept it. Bold Unicode is not searchable as normal words, so keep the keywords people look for, like job titles, in plain text.
Why does X count my bold text as more characters?
X counts each character outside its basic ranges as 2. Every bold letter is a separate Unicode character in that range, so a 10-letter bold word uses 20 of your 280.
